Skin And A Sharpie Is All Emily Ratajkowski Needs To Talk Harvey Weinstein

Yesterday, Weinstein reached a tentative settlement deal with accusers.

People have used all sorts of mediums to make their thoughts on disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein known – tweets, books, articles, open letters. But for Emily Ratajkowski, all it takes is a sharpie, a red carpet and an arm.

The actress and model attended the premiere of Adam Sandler’s new movie Uncut Gems this week where she sported a black dress and a tattoo written in sharpie on her left arm that read: “F*ck Harvey.”

Ratajkowski’s red carpet message came just hours after The New York Times reported that Harvey Weinstein had reached a tentative $36.5 million settlement deal with 30 of the women who accused him of sexual misconduct and assault.

The $36.5 million is part of an overall $68.5 million settlement deal intended to close out the producer’s studio obligations and will be paid out by the insurance companies rather than Weinstein himself.

The deal would also mean that Weinstein won’t have to admit any wrongdoing and according to Forbes, 18 of the accusers will split $6.2M USD, with no one receiving more than $500K USD.

The settlement deal has been slammed by the public and members of the #MeToo movement for essentially letting Weinstein off the hook.

In an Instagram post showing off her message to Weinstein, Ratajkowski wrote, “Today Harvey Weinstein and his former studio made a $25 million deal with his victims.”

“Weinstein, accused of offenses ranging from sexual harassment to rape, won’t have to admit wrongdoing or pay his own money.”

It’s no surprise Emily Ratajkowski used the opportunity to speak out against Weinstein – she’s a proud feminist and shortly after the accusations against the film producer hit the headlines, she told Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, “Nobody was surprised by these allegations.”

“I think people need to wake up and realize there’s something deeply disturbing [about the industry]. I think that there are a lot of power dynamics that have been deeply sown from the very beginning of the industry, where there are very small things that even as a woman you are so used to, that you don’t realize how wrong they are. But I hope the culture is changing.”

Harvey Weinstein is scheduled to be tried in Manhattan in January 2020 on criminal charges of sexual assault involving two women and all eyes will be on how this will unfold.
