All The Glorious Memes To Come From Trump Being Mocked At Buckingham Palace

Grumpy Trumpy.

Yesterday, the Internet travelled back in time to an era of petty schoolyard politics with this iconic video of multiple world leaders secretly mocking US President Donald Trump.

During a NATO summit at Buckingham Palace yesterday, a conversation between Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, French president Emmanuel Macron, Britain’s PM Boris Johnson, Dutch PM Mark Rutte and Princess Anne was caught on camera.

Honestly, Princess Anne was in fine form at the NATO summit. Listen for all the details…

After careful examination and some clever lip reading, the Internet has determined that the world leaders were gossiping about Donald Trump during their conversation.

BoJo asks Macron, “is that why you were late?” and Trudeau interrupts by saying, “He was late because he takes a 40 minute press conference off the top.”

Speaking to Princess Anne and the rest of the group, Trudeau appears to address Trump’s announcement that the G7 summit would no longer be held at one of his resorts. “You just watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor,” the Canadian prime minister says.

When Trump was asked about the conversation and Trudeau’s specific involvement, he told reporters, “well he’s two-faced.”

“And honestly, with Trudeau he’s a nice guy, I find him to be a very nice guy but you know the truth is that I called him out on the fact that he’s not paying 2% [on defence] and I guess he’s not very happy about it.”

Trudeau, Macron and Johnson have all shrugged off the video, but it was too late – the sneaky convo has already birthed many incredible memes:

The whole thing got even more meme-worthy when Trump went to greet the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles, but was side-stepped by Princess Anne who stayed by the sidelines.

Some people were even speculating that Prince Charles subtly flipped the bird to the POTUS during their interaction:

It’s an awkward moment for these world leaders, but there are lessons we can learn from this: for the most part, politics is still playground stuff and the Internet is incredibly talented at making hilarious memes.
