Will And Jada Pinkett Smith's Chat About Her Affair Is Next Level Hot Tea

It's like a messier version of Ross and Rachel.

Get some aloe vera and all the popcorn you can find because Jada Pinkett Smith has brought her husband of 23 years, Will Smith, onto her Red Table Talk show to spill some scalding hot tea about the only thing people really want to hear about their relationship right now: her affair with singer August Alsina.

Speaking of wild marriages, the GOAT team talk about what the hell Kimye have been up to on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

Let’s just quickly set the stage before we dive into this spicy AF Red Table Talk: there have been long-standing rumours that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith have an open marriage only to consistently deny them, but those flames got a massive dollop of fuel when 27-year-old singer August Alsina confirmed in an interview with Angela Yee that he and Jada totally had an affair.

After staying silent for a bit, Will and Jada decided to hash it out on her Red Table Talk show and boy is their chat full of juicy revelations. First off, the Smiths don’t directly talk about Jada’s affair with August Alsina and opted to dance around it with buzzwords like “entanglement,” “interaction,” and “transgression” even though we totally know what’s going on.

So the gist was that Will and Jada were “on a break” and separated for a period, and August had happened to come into their lives “a few years ago” when he was struggling with mental health and addiction issues.

Jada is quite upfront about wanting to “fix” August, saying how “it was a joy to help heal somebody” when asked what she was looking for exactly. Combine that with how Jada “hurting” in her marriage with Will, this volatile mix of ingredients ultimately led to the affair. Or “entanglement” as Jada repeatedly describes it.

When Will asked Jada what wanted to get out of her affair “entanglement” with August, she says “I was looking to feel good. It had been so long since I felt good.” Clearly things weren’t rosy in the Smith household between Will and Jada.

In the midst of all that, there was a lot of talk about “healing” from Jada’s “transgression” and the general feeling is that despite the August Alsina affair and whatever problems the Smiths are having, Will still wants to stick by Jada’s side, saying “We came together young. We were both broken in our own ways. And to be able to make mistakes without the fear of losing your family is so critical.”

You can watch the entire 12-minute chat between Will and Jada right here.

It’s pretty damn rare to see a couple as famous as Will and Jada Pinkett Smith talk about their marital problems in such a candid way, and boy did it make for some gripping content.

So what’s the main takeaway from this? Well we still need a little time to process this properly and talk about some more serious topics, like the power dynamic between August and Jada, and whether all this talk about “healing” is genuine or disingenuous on another day. But one thing’s for sure, no one could’ve guessed Will and Jada Pinkett Smith would be 2020’s version of Ross and Rachel.
