We’ve all seen the meme. You know, the one that gives us instructions on how to best wash our hands, along with the lyrics of our favourite song to ensure that we do so for the correct period of time.
Yeah, that one! Well, it looks as if some of our favourite celebrities have taken this meme to the next level, as they’ve uploaded lengthy videos guiding us through how exactly to do so. Here are our favourites.

6. Hugh Jackman
I’ve never needed Woolverine’s help as much as I do right now. Only a day prior, this Aussie triple-threat broke the internet by washing his hands to Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’, which was definitely a sight for sore eyes. But, after some fans pointed out that you shouldn’t leave the tap running whilst washing, he quickly rectified his mistake and uploaded another video. He sings in this one too!
5. Nicole Scherzinger
The Pussycat Dolls frontwoman is here to show us how it’s done. According to experts, we’re supposed to wash our hands for 20 seconds, but this doll takes it to the next level. Ms Scherzinger washes her hands for double the recommended time, lip-syncing to one of the catchiest songs released this year. Enjoy!
4. JoJo
We really miss JoJo on our radios. But, while she is taking her time before blessing us with another album, she has written a song about washing your hands. And we have to say, with a little drum and guitar, we’d send this track to the top of the ARIA charts. Am I right or am I right?
3. Mariah Carey
Honestly, Mariah can do no wrong. The Queen of Christmas has just tackled the ‘Flip The Switch’ challenge and is serving us yet another iconic video. Singing along to the ‘Fantasy’ remix, this adorable video is guaranteed to have you not only reaching for the tap but also your copy of Glitter on DVD.
2. The Killers
Now, I know we’re used to hearing this song being screamed at the tops of our lungs whenever it comes on at a house party, but this video has to get a shout out for putting a spin on one of our fave songs. We’ve never heard Brandon Flowers so eloquent and articulate.
1. Gloria Gaynor
This one definitely takes the cake on our list for a few reasons. Firstly, Gloria Gaynor is a musical legend. Secondly, ‘I Will Survive’ is one of the greatest songs of all time. Thirdly, she literally teaches us that we will “survive” if we wash our hands correctly. Honestly, I challenge you to find a more iconic video.
