If you weren’t well-aware, TikTokers are the new YouTubers. The platform is booming with personalities including Charli D’Amelio (the most followed star on the platform) and her ex-boyfriend Chase “Lil Huddy” Hudson (who is in the top 40 of the most followed stars on the platform) and yes, they are fighting. Last night, Charli D’Amelio went in on her ex on Twitter after rumours of him cheating circulated the internet. If you have no idea where to start, don’t worry, we’ve got the essential run-down for you.
Introducing Charli D’Amelio And Chase Hudson
Last year, Tiktok skyrocketed to mainstream success with eighteen-year-old Chase Hudson and 16-year-old Charli D’Amelio at the forefront. Despite Charli’s age, these two somehow ended up being the biggest couple to come out of the platform but Mr. Hudson didn’t want to put labels on it. The shade of it all. Anyway, months after their separation, Charli has returned to the Hype House and the two have appeared in many-a-video together, prompting reconciliation rumours to fly all around Twitter. But, given what went down last night, we don’t think they’re getting back together.
Wait, What Is The Hype House?
Just quickly, if you don’t know what the Hype House is, it is the name given to a collective of TikTok content creators that are based in Los Angeles, as well as the name of the Spanish-style mansion where that collective live. As we’ve said before, Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson are both part of the Hype House.
But now, let’s introduce Thomas Petrou, one of the Hype House founders. On July 5, Petrou posted a YouTube video suggesting that TikTokker Nessa Barrett could be joining the Hype House.
We know, not that big of a deal, right? Wrong. Nessa Barrett (and her ex-boyfriend Josh Richards) are members of a rival collective, Sway House, and those two have been causing a whole lot of drama with Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson. A few weeks before Charli D’Amelio and Chase Hudson announced their breakup, Josh Richards released a diss-track claiming that Chase Hudson sent Nessa Barrett explicit pics and Hudson was talking to D’Amelio. Okay, now you’re up to speed.
Chase Hudson Causes The Drama
While Charli D’Amelio kept quiet in her response to the diss-track the most part (we mean, there were a few vague captions here and there), Chase Hudson really caused all the drama. “All this drama going on because I kissed Nessa when we were both single,” he tweeted (and subsequently deleted). Come through tea, only that clearly wasn’t the whole story because Charli D’Amelio tweeted out to the world, “Then, you shouldn’t have come to my house after without telling me …” Here’s where the TikTok drama gets juicy.
Subsequently, Chase Hudson copped a whole bunch of sub-tweets from Barrett’s ex-ex-boyfriend Jaden Hossler and many boys from the Sway House.
As you can imagine, #LilHuddyIsOverParty very quickly popped up and trended on Twitter.
Chase Hudson Just Won’t Shut Up
What do you know? The drama continues. Chase Hudson, after hitting what appears to be TikTok rock bottom, decided to spill all the drama he could tweeting: “Since all my drama has to be put on the internet for the world to judge me, let’s lay out everyone else’s,” he wrote in a now-deleted screenshot. Is this too much to handle? Yes. Should we get back to Charli? Yes.
Chase Hudson Apologises To Charli
Chase Hudson then said something which we were all waiting for, “The only person who has a right to be upset with me is Charli and I’m sorry I hurt her…” And while you’d think we would get a full apology from the man, we did not. He continued, “We broke up and I messed up by kissing Nessa. I am not sorry to Josh, we are not boys and we haven’t been boys since he lied to Charli saying I had an STD 6 months ago trying to get her to stop seeing me. I’m not going to let these hypocrites try and ruin my life without their lives being out on the internet too.”
Finally, Charli Gets The Last Laugh
While a bunch of the other “called out” TikTokers were trying to defend themselves against Hudson’s claims, Charli got the last laugh, tweeting: “Stop deflecting you’re actions onto others because you can’t take responsibility chase. want me to talk about how you treated me throughout our relationship or do you just want to continue to play the victim?”
We have no choice but to stan Charli and TikTok drama.
