This Model Broke IG's Nudity Rules To Raise Thousands For Bushfire Relief

"Not all heroes wear capes...or clothes."

Over the past week, it’s been humbling to watch countless celebrities, social media personalities and citizens step up in an effort to aid bushfire relief. One of those people was Kaylen Ward, AKA The Naked Philanthropist, who has raised thousands for the cause and got herself banned from Instagram in the process.

On January 4th, Ward told her 113.7K Twitter followers for every $10 they donate to Australian bushfire relief services she would send them a nude picture via DM.

The post quickly picked up steam and earlier today Ward told her followers, “we have hit and estimated $500K….guys I’m crying …this is f*cking crazy.”

Ward was praised for using her hustle for a good cause and her charitable efforts were even labelled “the greatest body positivity move in the history of mankind.”

However, not everyone was impressed by Ward’s naked philanthropy. The day after she made her pledge to help bushfire relief, her Instagram account was deactivated for violating the platform’s Community Guidelines.

“My IG got deactivated, my family disowned me, and the guy I like won’t talk to me because of that tweet,” she tweeted. “But f*ck it, save the koalas.”

Since her Instagram was deactivated, dozens of fake accounts have popped up to try and make a buck off her viral success.

Speaking to Buzzfeed News, Ward said “I was seeing all the posts on Twitter about the Australian fires and I was really concerned there wasn’t a lot of media coverage and not a lot of people donating.” The model also said that she had posted “sexually suggestive content,” but wasn’t technically breaking any rules.

Considering Ward already makes money from selling her nude photos, why not sell them and donate the profits to help bushfire relief? It’s a great cause and something we can all get behind – fingers crossed Ward has her Instagram reactivated so she can continue her campaign.
