Thirsting Over 'The Lion King' Is Less Weird After This Artist Drew Them As Hot Humans

Mufasa can get it.

Look, we are a judgment-free zone here at GOAT and if you’re into something, that’s fine. Even if that something is thirsting over the animals in The Lion King. Some people find that weird while others don’t, but I think we’ve reached a strange point where these two opposing parties will come into horny agreement that there may be something to this Lion King thirst after art of the characters reimagined as hot humans surfaced on the internet.

Speaking of weird things with big cats, the GOAT team dive deep into Netflix’s wild doco series ‘Tiger King’ on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

Chatting to POPSUGAR about why he decided to get everyone all thirsty over The Lion King, freelance illustrator Marco Bernard says he was watching TaleSpin and Beastars on Netflix while in self-isolation.

Beastars features a pride of vicious lions, which got him wondering what it would be like if Scar was their leader. This in turn got Marco thinking “Lion King but as hot humans,” which led to his so-called Pridelands art project.

For those wondering how one could possibly froth over Lion King art, well just feast your eyes on these anthropomorphic reimaginings of your childhood. There’s Scar, who looks like a suave, three-piece suit wearing daddy:

Rafiki looking like a badarse gangster leader, complete with his trademark cane:

Kova looking like your typical uni hunk:

Simba and Nala looking like influencer royalty:

Kiara looking like an athletic tomboy:

Shenzi looking like a mercenary for hire:

And Zira looking like Daryl Hannah’s character in Kill Bill:

But the piece de resistance of Marco’s Lion King hot humans art project has to be his reimagining of Mufasa because, well, the former king of Pride Rock is swole as hell and can hakuna my tatas any day. I can’t believe I just wrote that.

As one can imagine, the response to Marco’s Lion King Pridelands art project has been crazy and incredibly thirsty. While he was surprised at the response, he says that it’s been great as it gives everyone stuck in self-isolation due to the coronavirus COVID-19 something to look forward to.

Fair enough. We’re living in dark times and if art of Lion King animals as hot humans can help lift our spirits, especially when dating has become next-to-impossible then who are we to judge. Now I’m curious as to how Marco will re-imagine Timon and Pumbaa next.
