The Internet Has Pushed The Quaden Bayles Bullying Saga Into Conspiracy Territory

From wholesome to downright ridiculous in record time.

We’ve had one crazy conspiracy theory about Sonic The Hedgehog this week but the latest one about the Quaden Bayles bullying story and whether he’s 9 or not is easily the wildest thing cooked up by the internet in 2020 so far.

Speaking of conspiracies, the GOAT team break down the wildest 2019 conspiracy theories on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

For those who need a refresher on what the Quaden Bayles bullying story is, Quaden is a 9-year-old boy who was diagnosed with achondroplasia – the most common form of dwarfism – and was bullied for it.

His mother, Yarraka Bayles, filmed a video of a tearful Quaden after picking up from school and shared it to Facebook, where it went viral with millions of views. People around the world soon caught wind of the story and a fundraiser was started to send Quaden to Disneyland, which raised a ridiculous $200,000 in just a day.

The Quaden Bayles bullying story also drew support from celebrities around the world, including Hugh Jackman, actor Jon Bernthal and the NRL.

But as the internet is wont to do when something wholesome comes along, people got skeptical about this story and folks started spruiking a wild Quaden Bayles conspiracy theory that calls into question whether he’s 9 or not.

It all began when someone made a social media post falsely claiming that Quaden Bayles is actually an 18-year-old actor posing as a 9-year-old and the whole bullying thing was a ruse to scam people out of money. To support this ridiculous theory, trolls used photos from Quaden’s Instagram (which has been made private at the time of writing) and pointed to things like him wearing Gucci clothing and standing next to the number 18 “evidence” of his “real” age.

Needless to say that this crazy Quaden Bayles conspiracy is absurb to say the least but it got a LOT of people questioning whether he’s 9 or 18, but a simple search would’ve easily debunked this theory as Yarraka regularly posted photos of Quaden as a baby over the years (though her Facebook profile has been made private at the time of writing).

Quaden has even appeared on TEN News in 2015 and is clearly a young boy rather than the teenager some trolls on the internet are trying to make him out to be.

So for all those wondering what exactly is the internet going crazy about in regards to the Quaden Bayles bullying saga, just know that it was nothing more than a bunch of trolls trying to take the shine on what’s been a wholesome story.
