Your Iso-Boyfriend Stanley Tucci Has It In For One Peppa Pig

Not the celebrity feud we were expecting.

Unless you’ve been hiding in a cave without access to WIFI, chances are you’ve heard that the entire world is currently thirsting after Stanley Tucci.

The Devil Wears Prada actor has won the affections of the masses after gracing us with a selection of swoon-worthy videos of him making assorted cocktails. If you haven’t watched these, do yourself a favour and sort that out.

Now that Tucci has achieved global imaginary-boyfriend status, he’s getting a lot more press (and deservedly so). Most recently, however, he was given the opportunity to walk Atlantic readers through his iso life with a journal-style piece.

That story has gotten a lot of attention since it went live. Not just because it was written by our iso-boyfriend, no. But because in it, Tucci decided to throw shade at another influential personality: Peppa Pig.

As The Cut shares, in the piece, Tucci wrote about his 2-year-old daughter’s love for the pink cartoon. This is what kicked off his mutual hatred and respect for the animation and her creators.

“After their meal is eaten, sort of, the little ones are allowed to watch a bit of television,” Tucci wrote.

“Dragons for him, Peppa Pig for her. (There is no question that my wife and I, along with many parents, wish the creators of that irritating animated swine a slow death, but they are so rich, they have probably purchased immortality. And yet at the same time, said pig allows us respite for half an hour or so every day. May God bless those creators.)”

The savage, and beautifully written, paragraph has exploded all over the Internet with folks everywhere voicing their agreeance with Tucci’s sentiments.

It’s certainly not the celebrity feud I expected to write about during quarantine, but truth be told, I’m not mad about it.

After all, if it wasn’t clear already, it is now obvious that Stanley Tucci is the guiding light that’s getting us all through quarantine. And I for one couldn’t be more grateful for his sharp prose and mixology skills.

Love you, Tucc. Credit: Screen Gems
