When I posed the question, “Diplo, hot or not?” to my GOAT colleagues, the response I got was a resounding super-hot. It seems like he has this effect on, well, everyone who lays eyes on him just wants to rip his clothes off, and that includes big name artists as well.
Case in point: Sia once slid into his DMs in a manner that redefines the word “confidence.”
Chatting to GQ for a cover story on Diplo, Sia confesses that she thinks her LSD bandmate is “super-duper hot” and struggles to keep it in her pants in trying to maintain their working relationship.
“Much of our relationship is just being spent trying not to have sex so that we wouldn’t ruin our business relationship, because he’s super-duper hot.”
Of course, that restraint didn’t last very long as Sia then revealed that she totally slid into Diplo’s DMs for some, ahem, “no-strings sex” because the dude is one of the few people in the world she’s attracted to, she’s single (and for life by her choice), and she wants to have some fun.
“This year I wrote him a text, and I said, ‘Hey, listen, you’re like one of five people that I’m sexually attracted to, and now that I’ve decided to be single for the rest of my life and I just adopted a son, I don’t have time for a relationship.… If you’re interested in some no-strings sex, then hit me up.'”
Now it’s unclear whether Diplo said yes or no to Sia’s proposal but either way, we have to give props to Sia for her confidence in going for what she wants.
That’s not to say you should slide into a stranger’s DMs hoping to get lucky (definitely don’t do it), but Sia’s friends-with-benefits proposal to Diplo shows you how to confidently thirst for someone you know while being respectful and openly honest about your intentions.
If Sia and Diplo did indeed hook up, once can’t help but feel like Labrinth will be a little like the third wheel in this partnership
