Schitt’s Creek Just Made Emmys History With 7 Award Wins

Schitt’s Creek has made history at the Primetime Emmys, picking up the first seven awards at Sunday’s (US time, duh) virtual ceremony.

All four stars, Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Daniel Levy, and Annie Murphy, claimed the comedy acting honours (Best Leading Actress, Leading Actor, Supporting Actor, and Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series) and the show itself?

Oh NBD, just a casual win in Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing, Directing, and Casting for a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Contemporary Costumes.

Dan Levy being excited is the gift that never stops giving.

Schitt’s Creek previously landed two gongs at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards last week, taking its 2020 tally to nine. NINE.

Catherine O’Hara kicked off the winning spree, with a win for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Speaking from their virtual dinner party in Canada, she said:

“I will forever be grateful… for the opportunity to play a woman of a certain age, my age, who gets to fully be her ridiculous self,” said O’Hara in her acceptance speech.

“I wish you all a sound mind and a sound body, and though these are the strangest of days, may you have as much joy being holed up in a room or two with your family as I have with my dear Roses.”

Anyway, we’re off to re-watch the entire series, byeeee.
