Getting something permanently etched into your skin is a big decision. First, you’ve got to pick a design that you’re going to love for life, then you’ve got to find a tattoo artist you trust, and most importantly, if you’re getting text, you’ve got to make sure it’s spelled correctly. Sadly, the third step is something Orlando Bloom was unable to accomplish.
Tattoo artist Balazs Bercsenyi took to Instagram earlier in the week to debut his recent work on Orlando Bloom – a tattoo in morse code of the actor’s nine-year-old son Flynn’s name, date of birth, and time of birth.
It’s a touching tribute to his son, but fans were quick to point out that Bloom’s tattoo spells out ‘Frynn’ instead of ‘Flynn.’
Yikes.

In his Instagram caption, Bercsenyi wrote, “a beautiful reminder for @orlandobloom of his son and yes, a dot is missing, we know, it will be fixed.”
Luckily, Bloom’s tattoo can be easily amended, but it’s not such a simple fix for other celebs who have suffered serious tattoo blunders.
Twilight star Ashley Greene has ‘Life’s a Dance’ tattooed on the top of her foot but unfortunately, it’s missing the apostrophe. It’s a similar story for Hayden Panettiere, who has ‘Live without regrets’ tattooed in Italian along the side of her back, however it’s actually spelled incorrectly.
And how could we possibly forget Ariana Grande’s infamous botched hand tattoo of 2019? The singer went to get the name of her single ‘7 Rings’ tattooed on her hand in Japanese, but it actually read ‘BBQ grill’ instead.
Big oops.
Then there are all the celebs have had their regrettable tattoos removed, or altered. Johnny Depp had his ‘Winona Forever’ tattoo tribute to ex Winona Ryder changed to ‘Wino Forever,’ and Angelina Jolie had her Billy Bob snake tattoo covered up with the coordinates of her children’s birthplaces.
If anything, these tales of tattoo mess-ups are just a lesson to always think twice before getting inked.
