Now's Not The Time To Make A Kobe Bryant Tribute About Yourself, Kylie Jenner

Alexa, what's the definition of "self-serving"?

The world is in a collective state of mourning following the sudden death of basketball legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna. But while heartfelt tributes are flowing from all corners of the globe, a certain celebrity by the name of Kylie Jenner has decided to make her tribute to Kobe all about herself.

After news broke about Kobe Bryant’s death, Kylie Jenner tweeted out a message expressing her shock and shared her condolences to his family. That tribute was heartfelt and perfectly fine. Her second message about Kobe was the complete opposite.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Kylie wrote “rest in peace.. and prayers to these families” in reference to the seven other passengers on the helicopter with Kobe and Gianna before it crashed. She then turned what started off as a nice tribute into a message about herself by writing, “This was was the helicopter I would fly on from time to time with that pilot, Ara. He was such a nice man. Hold your loved ones close.”

You’ve set the bar pretty low, Kylie Jenner, yet you somehow figured out a way to outdo yourself this time by making yourself the centre of attention. Again.

We get that your whole schtick is self-promotion and making things about yourself, but now’s not the time to make Kobe Bryant’s death about you. At a time when everyone should be showing compassion and empathy to others, you couldn’t even suppress that “how do I make this about MEEEE” urge for five measly minutes.

Hell, no one even cares about all the times you’ve flown in a private helicopter. All that’s asked is a bit of genuine human compassion and you couldn’t even do that. We expected very little from you, Kylie, and yet you managed to still disappoint everyone.
