Karma Came For Amy Cooper And Her Racist Call To The Cops

She knew exactly what she was doing.

There is no excuse to be a racist, regardless of whatever is happening around the world, what you “believe” in, or what problems you’re dealing with in your life. So when Amy Cooper, a white woman, decided to call the cops and lie to them about how Christian Cooper, a black man (unrelated to her), is “threatening” her when all he did was politely ask her to leash her dog while in Central Park, she’s rightfully copping a big helping of karmic justice for being a racist Karen.

The GOAT team dives right into this whole Amy Cooper fiasco on ‘It’s Been A Big Day For…’ below:

This all started when Amy Cooper was walking her dog without a leash through New York City’s Central Park, a popular destination for bird watching and requires dogs to be leashed at all times.

Avid bird watcher Christian Cooper politely asked Amy to leash her dog as per Central Park rules, only for her to refuse in a very Karen manner. This exchange escalated and after Christian began filming, Amy Cooper says she’s going to call the cops and “tell them there’s an African American man threatening my life.”

Christian replied with “please tell them whatever you like.”

There’s absolutely no ambiguity in Amy Cooper’s racist Karen behaviour because video of this clear-cut case of “white woman falsely calls the cops on a black man” was shared to Facebook by Christian and to Twitter by Christian’s sister, Melody, and proceeded to go wildly viral.

Amy and Christian had both left Central Park by the time the cops showed up and no arrests or report taken (as per Buzzfeed News) since no actual crime was committed.

However, Christian’s video had already started gaining traction. Soon Amy Cooper was trending everywhere on the internet for being a racist Karen and for knowing exactly what she was doing when she made that false call to the cops.

Unsurprisingly, the backlash was unrelentingly swift and soon karmic justice came knocking on Amy’s door to let her know that being a racist white woman who wields her privilege to falsely accuse a black man of violence carries severe consequences.

According to a tweet from Amy’s employer, Franklin Templeton, she’s been let go from her investment banker position with the company because it doesn’t “tolerate racism of any kind.”

Oh and the dog is also safe because Amy returned it to the rescue shelter after all this unsavoury stuff began to snowball so no need to worry about that.

Christian Cooper later commented on the incident (via CNN) and said he “videotaped it because I thought it was important to document things” before explaining his reasoning: “Unfortunately we live in an era with things like Ahmaud Arbery, where black men are seen as targets. This woman thought she could exploit that to her advantage, and I wasn’t having it.”

For what little it’s worth, Amy Cooper issued an apology to CNN stating that she is “not a racist” and “didn’t mean to harm that man in any way” before undermining it somewhat by saying how her “entire life is being destroyed right now.”

When asked if he would accept Amy’s public apology, Christian says “if it’s genuine and if she plans on keeping her dog on a leash in the Ramble going forward, then we have no issues with each other.”

That’s incredibly forgiving considering what she did and could’ve potentially happened.

This whole Amy Cooper incident has sparked a lot of discussion over racism and white privilege, but it all really boils down to one thing: don’t be a racist dick.
