Kanye's Bizarre Presidential Rally Should Have Fans Worried, Not Laughing

Kanye spoke about abortion and broke down in tears.

Kanye West has just completed his first Presidental campaign rally and boy, was it awkward. From his comments on abortion to his comments on slavery, Kanye West is confusing fans all over the world and got us questioning whether or not this “run” is real.

For more on the origins of Kanye’s campaign, check out this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For…

Kanye West has kicked off his 2020 US presidential election campaign with a strange, unorthodox rally in Charleston, South Carolina. The rapper-turned-politics star held the event at a conference hall which was open to registered guests only. There were no microphones used during the conference, which added to its amateur vibe.

Kanye West, who showed up with “2020” shaved into the back of his head and a security vest, made some controversial statements at the rally. At the event, Kanye appeared to be making off-the-cuff policy decisions, kicked out a heckler, in addition to going on several rants.

Firstly, Kanye West broke down in tears when speaking on the topic of abortion. The 43-year-old said, “There would have been no Kanye West, because my dad was too busy,” alluding to the fact that his dad considered getting an abortion when his mother, Donda, was pregnant. Here, Kanye West began to cry as he alluded to considering abortion on his own, saying:  “I almost killed my daughter… even if my wife (Kim Kardashian West) were to divorce me after this speech, she brought North into the world, even when I didn’t want to.”

The candidate for the “Birthday Party” did also say that he thinks abortion should be legal but that financial aid should be given to struggling mothers. “Everybody that has a baby gets a million dollars,” Kanye West yelled before adding, “Abortion should be legal because guess what? The law is not by God anyway, so what is legality?”

Kanye West then went on to make some controversial comments about 19th-century abolitionist, Harriet Tubman. In true Kanye-West-impromptu-monologue style, the rapper said, “Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had the slaves go work for other white people.” Yeah. As you can expect, he immediately received a roar of groans from the audience.

Do you think he’s running for president or is this all a publicity stunt? At this point, we have no idea, but we do know that Kanye West tweeted out a now-deleted Tweet with the tracklist to his upcoming album due to be released on Friday.

Keep in mind, even though he’s completed his first Presidential rally, Kanye West has missed the deadline to qualify for the ballot in multiple states in the United States. Much to think about.
