For some essential context, Jennifer Aniston has finished filming the final episode of Friends in 2004 and was ready to start a family with Brad Pitt. However, when Brad Pitt fell in love with his Mr and Mrs Smith costar, Angelina Jolie, things ultimately didn’t go to plan for Jennifer Aniston.
Now, a September 2005 interview with Jennifer Aniston and Vanity Fair has resurfaced, when the turmoil between her and Brad was obviously fresh and we can’t help but reach for the tissues. In this interview, Jennifer Aniston cried “silent tears” when the journalist discussed rumours that Brad and Angela were expecting a child, just a few months after their divorce was finalised.
According to the interviewer, Jennifer Aniston, who was 36-years-old at the time, looked as if she’d been “stabbed in the heart.” She allegedly cried for several minutes and was unable to stop the tears from rolling down her face.
When Jennifer Aniston was asked if she believed the rumours that Brangelina had an affair, she replied with a loving, “I choose to believe my husband. Jennifer Aniston continued, “At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised by anything, but I would much rather choose to believe him.”
Jennifer Aniston also admitted that Brad had told her that he wanted to work out what he wanted in life as a single man. However, in 2005, he was spotted playing with Angelina’s adopted son Maddox.
“I would be a robot if I said I didn’t feel moments of anger, of hurt, of embarrassment,” Jennifer Aniston said. “I just don’t know what happened. There’s a lot I don’t understand, a lot I don’t know, and probably never will know, really.”
“I have to think there’s some reason I have called this into my life. I have to believe that – otherwise it’s just cruel.”
Throughout their whole lives in the spotlight, Brangelina have always denied any romantic involvement whilst Brad was married to Jennifer Aniston.
It wasn’t until earlier this year that we finally saw Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston at the SAG Awards and honestly, it was a sight for sore eyes.
