Brace Yourself, This IG Exposes The Good And Bad Of Celeb Encounters

They say never meet your heroes.

There’s a good reason people say ‘never meet your heroes’. Celebrities are consistently propped up on a pedestal by us mere mortals, making real life encounters with them incredibly disappointing – or surprisingly great. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to rub shoulders with Hollywood’s greatest, look no further than Deux Moi – an Instagram page that anonymously exposes people’s run-ins with a-list celebs.

The private Instagram account, which describes itself as “curators of pop culture”, publishes daily stories of anonymous DMs describing hilarious, wacky and sometimes heartwarming stories of real-life celeb sightings.

Today, the account featured positive stories about seeing unlikely trio Andre 3000, Sally Fields and Jason Segel dining together at a dim sum restaurant in Chinatown. As well as a sighting of Dave Franco at lunch in Los Angeles, where he seemed “charming and polite.”

There’s also a great yarn from a fan who met Avengers star Sebastian Stan. They asked him for a dance and he politely said “no”.

Unfortunately, Deux Moi also chronicles less than flattering encounters with celebrities. Most recently, the account featured a story about Hilary Duff ignoring a fan and her 7-year-old daughter when they tried to speak to her at a restaurant. Ouch.

Today, the account also featured funny and shocking stories about the likes of the Jonas Brothers, Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, Lindsay Lohan, Matthew McConaughey, Harry Styles and many, many more.

Deux Moi’s daily Instagram stories sometimes feature over 20 installments – but unlike other accounts that flog the same thing over and over again, Deux Moi’s will have you glued to your phone screen – if you’re a fan of celebrity goss, of course.

Speaking of celebrity encounters, hear about David Dobrik’s stalker stans below:

In a recent interview with the Evening Standard, a source from Deux Moi said, “between Twitter, IG and message boards like Reddit people will find you and call you out without a second thought or all the facts.”

“With social media, indiscretions live on forever. Sometimes I am literally shocked at what people send me…it could be something that was said or done by a celebrity years ago but the information is still floating around,” they said. “A lot of times celebrities can not escape their actions. I think at that point it is up to the fans to decide if they can forgive.”

If anything Deux Moi, and other social media accounts like it, expose celebrities for what they are – real human beings who can make real mistakes.
