Gwyneth Paltrow Dragged For Flogging $1.4K Outfit Via Goop Amid Coronavirus Crisis

"Come on Goop."

As coronavirus continues to spread and impact humanity on a global scale, it’s starting to bring the best – and the worst – out in society. We’ve seen full-blown brawls over toilet paper, irresponsible people breaking quarantine, and now, Gwyneth Paltrow is using her ‘wellness’ platform to talk about expensive fashion brands.

Late last week, Paltrow came under fire when she posted a pic of herself to Goop’s official Instagram. According to Page Six, the since-deleted post was captioned, “Most days you’ll find GP wearing G.Label with a pair of sneakers—which is one reason we make it an annual tradition to put together a fresh sneaker guide each year. Get ready to cover some serious ground (run, don’t walk).”

When you look up the individual items Paltrow was flogging via the post, they add up to a whopping $1,400 AUD. Considering the current crisis the world finds itself in, this didn’t exactly go down well with Goop’s followers.

Listen to the GOAT team go deep on Gwyneth Paltrow’s chaotic energy on It’s Been A Big Day For…below:

One user commented, “I think it’s irresponsible to post this as a world-wide pandemic is going on. You have a great platform around health. Now would be the time to expand on it.”

Another added, “Come on goop, when you said GP, I thought at first you were referring to Dr. Please use your platform in a more sensitive way…I really don’t think it’s the time to think about buying trainers when people are struggling to buy day to day supplies. We don’t want doom and gloom, but maybe a post on boosting your immune system, staying healthy etc…”

Goop responded to the backlash by deleting the questionable post and putting up another about ‘dealing with fear.’ Unfortunately, it’s not the first time Gwyneth Paltrow has ruffled feathers with her coronavirus comments.

Last month, the actress posted a photo of herself mid-flight wearing a face mask. She captioned the image, “En route to Paris. Paranoid? Prudent? Panicked? Placid? Pandemic? Propaganda? Paltrow’s just going to go ahead and sleep with this thing on the plane. I’ve already been in this movie. Stay safe. Don’t shake hands. Wash hands frequently.”

Paltrow was clearly referring to her 2011 film Contagion, about a global virus that leads to mass panic. Aspects of the film are eerily similar to the current coronavirus crisis, but Paltrow’s post wasn’t received well, with some followers calling her “self-absorbed.” Yikes.

Perhaps it’s a good opportunity for Gwyneth Paltrow to log off social media and keep the Goop account for real ‘wellness’ posts.
