Florence Pugh Is Challenging Your Stereotypes With Boyfriend Zach Braff

"Once again, it’s making a young woman feel like sh*t."

Last year, Florence Pugh made her relationship with fellow actor Zach Braff public. Unfortunately, it didn’t take long for cruel trolls to slam their age gap – Braff is 45 years old, and Pugh is 24. Fast-forward to this week and Pugh is still dealing with scrutiny over her relationship.

Pugh appeared on the Sue Perkins: An Hour or So With…podcast on Tuesday when she spoke about her relationship and the Internet’s reaction to it.

“I’ve always found it funny, how I can be good enough for people to watch my work and support my work and pay for tickets, and I’m old enough to be an adult and pay taxes, but I’m not old enough to know who I should and should not have sex with,” Pugh said.

“Yet, once again, it’s making a young woman feel like shit for no reason,” she added.

Speaking of Florence Pugh, hear about Marvel and her recent comments on white fragility below:

Unfortunately, it’s not the first time Pugh has been forced to address the criticism of her relationship with Braff.

In April, the Little Woman actress posted a social media video, explaining that “within eight minutes” of posting a birthday message for Braff on Instagram, “I had about 70% of the comments hurling abuse and being horrid – basically bullying someone on my page.”

“It is the first time in my entire Instagram life that I’ve had to turn off the comments on my page,” she said. “I will not allow that behaviour on my page. The world is aching, and the world is dying, and a few of you decided to bully for no reason.”

Later, she said she doesn’t need her fans to “tell me who I should and shouldn’t love,” and that “if those rules are something you do not like, please unfollow me.”

Florence Pugh and Zach Braff’s relationship – as well as that of Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, Jay-Z and Beyonce and so many more – challenge the stereotype that you are required to be a similar age as the person you love.

It’s just yet another reminder to live, and let live.
