Rapper Doja Cat has officially joined the list of Coronavirus precaution naysayers who have now contracted the virus.
The 24-year-old Californian local revealed in an interview with Capital XTRA that she tested positive for the virus and experienced “a four-day symptom freak out” as a result.
She told the media outlet:
“I got COVID. Honestly, I don’t know how this happens, but I guess I ordered something off of Postmates and… I don’t know how I got it, but I got it.”
“I’m OK now,” she continued.
“It was a four-day symptom freak out but I’m fine now.”
The irony of the situation is that Doja Cat is of those interesting characters who have decided to shame people for taking COVID-19 seriously.
In an Instagram live update, the rapper formerly told audiences:
“B*tch, I’m not scared of a Coronavirus, or the mother*cking…the beer version of that sh*t. I’m gonna get corona and then I’m gonna get a Corona, ‘cause I don’t give a f*ck about corona, b*tch. It’s a flu. …I’m not scared. I’m not scared. Y’all are p*ssy.”
Wonder how many Corona beers she sipped on during her “freak out”?
Doja Cat’s story is, shockingly, not a unique one. Public figures like Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson also tested positive after slow-to-start responses to the virus. In the case of Bolsonaro, he was quoted by SBS referring to the virus as “a little flu” before contracting it himself.
In any case, what this shows is that you really don’t gain anything other than criticism for acting like COVID-19 doesn’t impact you. If you’re not a health expert, do your due diligence and follow the advice of people who are better qualified to do so.
