Dolly Parton Wants Her Playboy Cover Back, We’re Not Worthy

"It would be such a hoot."

She might be 74 years old but Dolly Parton is showing no signs of slowing down. Case in point: the fact she wants to recreate her iconic Playboy cover shoot for her next birthday.

In a recent interview on 60 Minutes, Parton said, “I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again! I thought it would be such a hoot. If they’ll go for it. I don’t know if they will.”

Speaking of empowering women, listen to the GOAT team chat with Bell Shakespeare’s female Hamlet on It’s Been A Big Day For…below:

Dolly Parton was the first country music star to appear on the cover of Playboy in 1978 dressed as one of the magazine’s signature bunnies. Speaking about the costume, she said, “I could probably use it. Maybe. Boobs are still the same! I have my own look. I’m kind of cartoonish and cartoons don’t really age that much.”

“When I’m 90, I’ll probably look about the same way. Just thicker makeup, bigger hair!” she added.

When asked if she is planning on retiring any time soon, Parton said, “Well, I don’t plan to retire. I just turned 74.”

Dolly Parton embodies the fact the age is merely a number and her desire to grace the cover Playboy 42 years on is extremely empowering.

It’s not the first time Parton has won us over with her inspiring comments. While she’s viewed by many as a feminist icon, the singer doesn’t consider herself one.

“I think I just live in my femininity,” she told Sky News. “I mean, people say ‘are you a feminist?’ And I say, I don’t know what that means.”

“I’m proud to be a woman, proud to be a woman in business, proud enough to do what I do.”

During the same interview, Parton also said she’d love to see a woman become the President of the United States. “She needs to have the goods, she needs to have the knowledge, needs to have the backbone to be able to run a country,” she said.

If it were up to me, Dolly Parton would be the next President of the United States. Now, someone give her that second Playboy cover.
