Billie Eilish's Response To Justin Bieber Saying He Wants To 'Protect Her' Is Perfect

"I don't want her to go through anything I went through."

Justin Bieber found himself getting very emotional during a Beats 1 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe when the topic turned to Billie Eilish.

Bieber, who was promoting his new album Changes, was asked about his relationship with Eilish, who’s a known fan of JB, when he teared up.

“I don’t know how many opportunities I’m going to get,” Bieber told Lowe, becoming emotional. “We never know how many opportunities we’re going to get with anybody. I’m tearing up thinking about it, just with the Kobe situation, you know.”

“You just never know, and so I just wanted to be a good example.”

When asked if he felt protective of the 18-year-old singer, he said, “Yeah, I definitely feel protective of her.”

“It was hard for me being that young and being in the industry and not knowing where to turn and everyone telling me they loved me and you know, just turning their back on you in a second.”

“It’s hard, because I just want her to know that she can count on me, but at the end of the day I’m never going to force myself to be in a relationship with her, it has to be natural.”

“I just kind of let her do her thing and if she ever needs me I’m going to be here for her.”

“But yeah, just protecting those moments… I just want to protect her, you know, I don’t want her to lose it. I don’t want her to go through anything that I went through, I don’t wish that upon anybody. So, if she ever needs me I’m just a call away.”

Eilish, shared a clip from the interview on Instagram and captioned it, “Stream Changes,” referring to Bieber’s album.

She also shared childhood photos of herself along with the clip, proving once again how big a fan of JB’s she actually is.

Bieber commented on the post, writing, “Love you !!!” His wife Hailey Baldwin also commented with a heart emoji.

Good Place star Jameela Jamil wrote, “Purest content on the internet,” and Naomi Campbell added, “REALNESS.”

Bieber has been open about his depression and drug use and in September 2019, he shared a lengthy note to his fans about it.

He started, “It’s hard to get out of bed in the morning with the right attitude when you are overwhelmed with your life your past, job, responsibilities, emotions, your family, finances, your relationships.” When it feels like there’s trouble after trouble after trouble.”

“You start foreseeing the day through lenses of ‘dread’ and anticipate another bad day. A cycle of feeling disappointment after disappointment. Sometimes it can even get to a point where you don’t even want to live anymore.”

He added that he was lucky to have the right people around him that encouraged him “to keep going” and went on to speak of his drug use.

“I started doing pretty heavy drugs at 19 and abused all of my relationships. I became resentful, disrespectful to women, and angry. I became distant to everyone who loved me.”

“I felt like I could never turn it around. It’s taken me years to bounce back from all of these terrible decisions. Fix broken relationships, and change relationship habits. Luckily god blessed me with extraordinary people who love me for me.”

“All this to say even when the odds are against you keep fighting.”
