Ask For What You Want On Twitter And Lizzo Shall Deliver

"Ask for what you want, y'all!"

Serious question: what would the world look like without Lizzo in it?

The ‘Truth Hurts’ singer and recent Grammy Award winner has not only blessed our playlists with a lifetime supply of empowering music, but she’s making literal dreams come true.

French Horn player Kyra Sims took to Twitter this week to encourage her followers to always ask for what you want after she scored a gig working for Lizzo via the power of the Internet.

“I put my wish out into the world and less than a year later it came true. Ask for what you want, y’all!” Sims tweeted, referencing a tweet she posted in May 2019.

In the original tweet, Sims wrote, “Ok so how do I become @lizzo’s personal fat black French Horn player tho.”

Speaking of powerful ladies, listen to the GOAT team give the lowdown on all the feminist pioneers topping the charts right now on It’s Been A Big Day For... below:

It’s by no means the first time Lizzo has helped her fans. Last year, she reached out to a Twitter user who was struggling with self-love.

“How is it possible that I listened to the great @lizzo tell me how important self love is and I still somehow hate myself like that’s just not right,” the fan tweeted.

In response to the fan, Lizzo wrote, “It’s because loving yourself don’t happen overnight…self-hate is years of internalised programming from external influences…sometimes self-hate is chemical and effects ya mentally/emotionally…”

“Give your growth time – it took me 10 years and I’m still not 100% there.”

Then there was Lizzo’s recent Australian tour when she spent a day volunteering for Foodbank Victoria to put together hampers for people in bushfire affected areas.

In a 2019 interview with Elle, Lizzo spoke about opening up about her mental well-being on social media and said, “I learned in the last 24 hours that being emotionally honest can save your life. Reaching out may be hard, but as soon as I did it, I was immediately covered in love.”

Lizzo is testament to the fact that loving, supporting and lifting each other up is not only incredibly important, but has the power to change people’s lives.
