Armie Hammer is the latest name to have made headlines over some concerning cannibal allegations. He is currently in the middle of an ongoing scandal surrounding alleged leaked direct messages about the actor’s sex life.
In the latest chapter of this viral story, it was announced that the actor will be stepping down from Jennifer Lopez’s new movie Shotgun Wedding.
The Social Network star has asked producers to let him exit the project, telling TMZ he cannot justify spending time away from his young son and daughter amid reports surrounding leaked DMs he allegedly sent, describing fantasies of rape and cannibalism, which were leaked by an anonymous social media source.
“I’m not responding to these bulls**t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” Armie says.
“Lionsgate (film studio) is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.”
A production spokesperson tells the New York Post’s Page Six:
“Given the imminent start date of Shotgun Wedding, Hammer has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision.”
Hammer was the second star to take on the role in director Jason Moore’s film – Ryan Reynolds was originally cast as the groom-to-be of a destination wedding, who is taken hostage.
ICYMI, this week, a series of DMs went viral, allegedly showing Hammer speaking to the women in a way that is quite domineering – there’s a lot to unpack here so get ready.
Some of the leaked direct messages speak of drinking blood, describe scenes of sexual control, and references cannibalism.
In one DM, Hammer allegedly describes himself as “100% a cannibal” and tells a woman “I want to eat you.”

Hammer’s alleged messages went viral after a woman – who claims to have had an affair with Hammer – shared screenshots on the Instagram account @houseofeffie (which has since switched to private).
She claims at least five women were engaged in consensual affairs with the actor, while he was married to ex wife Elizabeth Chambers.
“We all got told we are perfect. That he wants to run away with us. That it’s our world and f*** everyone else. He loved us all in his and [his ex’s] bed and made us a cute omelette after.”
“So we all had apartments ready for him around the world. So he met all our moms and they all loved him. So he told us all to be monogamous to him and wait for his divorce.”
“In retrospect it all makes sense, the asking to fly him out private, to get him a room at Claridges. It makes sense why he dated the kind of women he dated in 2021. Good on C for smarting up and kicking him out and getting sober.
“And if I hadn’t spoken out. None of those things would’ve made sense.”
There was also talk that the bizarre messages were allegedly photoshopped. While the cannibalism messages were making their way across the internet, another set of DMs started doing the rounds, appearing to show @houseofeffie admitting to faking Armie’s messages.
But she has since hit back at this, claiming that the DMs she shared were real and the ones with her admitting to faking messages were created by Armie Hammer fans in order to protect him.
“His crazy fans went so far as to make a fake DM by me,” she wrote on Instagram.
There is now debate circuling on Twitter over whether or not any of the DMs from either side are real. Turns out it’s pretty easy to fake a conversation, Gen Z these days – so tech savvy:
