Ten years after her infamous breakdown, the child-star took to PAPER Magazine to embark on the comeback of all comebacks. She spoke about her downfall and celebrated her sobriety, overall things started to look up for this star. But, sadly, things took a turn today when her fiance announced their separation.

Just three weeks after Amanda Bynes announced her engagement to her “best friend” news came of their separation. In an interview with InTouch, Paul confirmed their split, saying “I love her though, she’s my best friend.” Rumours of the split had been swirling after Bynes deleted every photo with Paul on her Instagram. The two had met in AA and started dating for a few months before the question was popped last month.
While this news is certainly sad, we can’t help but realise this is a tale we’ve already seen. Britney Spears is another child-star who was pushed to the point of a breakdown due to pressures from the media. Both have come from fame as a very young teenager, had very short marriages and seen very high-profile breakdowns in the tabloids.
Additionally, Spears and Bynes are also on conservatorships. Spears has been under her father’s conservatorship since her breakdown in the early ‘00s. On the other hand, Bynes’ mother is her conservator, giving her control over the star’s affairs and finances. According to E! News, a source claimed that her parents weren’t fully on board with her engagement and subsequently weren’t on board for a wedding with Paul.
Amanda Bynes actually came forth on social media to talk about some of the restrictions in her conservatorship. She said, “I’m sorry that this is what I’m dealing with and I’m sorry that I put my problems onto the internet, but this is what life has come to. So thank you guys so much for always supporting me. To this day, Bynes is still copping unfair treatment from the paparazzi also. She discussed her unfair photoshopping in a video posted to her personal Instagram.
In the past few years, the She’s The Man actress has graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and overall is just killing it. We certainly hope she continues to keeps doing so despite all these setbacks. In the interview with PAPER magazine, she spoke about how she would like to return to movies, and we certainly hope that happens for her.
