Pete Davidson Getting Very Real About His Mental Health Is A Potent Reminder That Online Trolls Are Not Harmless

No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won't.

CW: This article contains mentions of suicidal thoughts.

Since Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson broke off their engagement, the pair have both received a lot of public attention. But unfortunately, due to Ariana Grande’s fame and following, Davidson has copped an unacceptable level of vitriol from online trolls.

He has openly mentioned his mental health before, but in a recent Instagram post, he issued an explicit statement opening up about his mental health and experience with suicidal thoughts, in order to call out those online trolls for their behaviour.

“I’ve kept my mouth shut. Never mentioned any names, never said a word about anyone or anything.” He said. “I’m trying to understand how when something happens to a guy the whole entire world just trashes him without any facts or frame of reference.”

“Especially in today’s climate where everyone loves to be offended and upset it truly is mind boggling. I’ve been getting online bullied and in public by people for 9 months. I’ve spoken about BPD and being suicidal publicly only in the hopes that it will help bring awareness and help kids like myself who don’t want to be on this earth. I just want you guys to know. No matter how hard the internet or anyone tries to make me kill myself. I won’t. I’m upset I even have to say this.”

“To all those holding down and seeing this for what it is – I see you and I love you. Pete.”

The kind of e-bile that Davidson has been dealing with is unfortunately a huge problem for a lot of people online – whether they are public figures or minority people or literally just a woman.

Pete Davidson boldly calling it out online trolling with such an honest, personal appeal is powerful in a culture that can tend to forget that celebrities are not impenetrable, and they see the crap posted on the internet about them.

So power to him, and we hope people listen and draw on some empathy when posting online.

We Must Figure Out The Fourth Classic Chick Flick Ariana Grande Is Cosplaying In Her Thank U Next Music Video

One taught me impatience.

Ariana Grande is the queen of teasing content. Right now she’s going in hard with the teasers for her upcoming music video for ‘thank u, next’, and it’s causing a lot of hype mixed with some serious distress.

On one hand, Ari is a generous queen and revealed that the music video will recreate iconic chick flicks that we all know and love: Legally Blonde, Mean Girls and Suddenly 30. On the other hand, she’s left the last movie up to our imagination.

She’s confirmed that Legally Blonde: Ariana Edition will definitely be happening with a whole lot of hype posts.

Our girl’s attention to detail is a recipe for some absolutely dope content.

She even posted a picture from behind the scenes with Legally Blonde alumni Jennifer Coolidge, so this is clearly going to be epic.

Then she’s got her besties on board to play the plastics of Mean Girls.

Then we’ve got this short hair aesthetic, presumably for cosplaying Jennifer Garner in Suddenly 30.

But we’ve got one more movie to go and though Ariana won’t give us any more hints, she’s already confirmed it’s not Clueless.

So just spitballing here, there’s a few potential options that could be another Ariana favourite making an appearance as the final 25% of the ‘thank u, next’ video…

The Notebook? 10 Things I Hate About You? Bring It On? Princess Diaries? Moulin Rouge? Dirty Dancing? Never Been Kissed? Grease???? Grease 2???? Pretty In Pink? Romy And Michelle’s High School Reunion? Breakfast At Tiffany’s? Bend It Like Beckham? Miss Congeniality? Coyote Ugly?

OK I need to sit down. Ariana please tell your people to edit that ‘thank u, next’ music video quick smart and dish up the goods ASAP.

Excuse Me, Is Ariana Grande About To Drop Thank U Next Part 2 And Spill Some More Tea?

It’s looking like we’ve got a classic Ariana song tease on our hands.

Remember when Ariana Grande dragged her ex-fiancé Pete Davidson on Twitter with some gloriously messy posts, including the words, “thank u, next”?

And then a few days later dropped the absolute bop ‘thank u, next’ that literally expresses her untainted gratitude to all her ex-boyfriends, thus revealing that the Twitter drama was, in fact, a lyrical preview?

WELL. It looks a whole lot like Ariana is back on her bullsh*t and teasing a new song via some cryptically lyrical Twitter posts. For instance:

“good at overthinking w my heart …. how u even think it got this far”

She backed it up with a video of her singing a new song with just piano accompaniment, and it’s so damn beautiful. The video is captioned ‘needy ass’, which put together with the lyrics teased so far makes it sound like this song is going to give us even more insight into her past (and perhaps recent) relationships.

Ariana fans have been quick to notice the very Ari-like hints at a new track, and people are feeling fairly impatient and demanding to say the least.

Basically, we want the new Ariana track (and album), and we want it now. Please.
