Brace Yourselves For The Music Festival That Literally Goes Over Two Years

Let's do the time warp again.

New Year’s is going to be extra special this time round – we’re not only kicking off a whole new decade, but also finally laying to rest that irritating joke about goal setting and eyesight. Obviously, the single best way to welcome 2020 is to round up some mates, and party with some of the past year’s biggest artists. Actually no, I’m not speaking figuratively, ‘cause that’s exactly the service that Origin Fields will provide.

Music festivals these days are about way more than what’s happening on stage – not that Origin Fields is lacking in the talent department, but we’ll get to that. In addition to the expected sights and sounds, Origin commissions an artist each year to deck out the park with a creative installation. It’s cool shit – literally.

This year Origin Fields promises to up the ante once again with the addition of Origin World, featuring a variety of immersive experiences that are sure to rock your world. Not to mention a silent disco, a variety of speciality bars and a heap more activations.

Another neat feature of the fest is their DJ & producer competition, which offers up to four slots in the line-up to lucky Dj’s & Producers. It can be pretty hard for our homegrown Aussie talent to get recognition and performing for such a massive crowd is an opportunity not to be sneezed at. And let’s not forget that attendees are the real winners here – there’s nothing like coming back from a music festival with a few new people to follow on SoundCloud.

Okay, okay, you’ve held out long enough. Who’s headlining? Oh, only a couple of small indie artists, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Tyler, The Creator. IDK, you’ve probably never heard of them.

This year’s line-up is stacked with the stars of Aussie and international hip-hop, pop, and electronica. On New Year’s Eve you’ll be racing towards midnight with the likes of Skepta, Ella Mai, Golden Features, and Snakehips. Come back on day two and you’ll get The Veronicas, Cub Sport, and Mallrat. To name a few.

With the festival just under two months away you’re running out of time to snag a ticket, so jump onto originfields.com.au/tickets before you miss out.

After all, fireworks shows are so overrated.
