Noah Centineo's Awards Speech Was Cooked, Don't Be Surprised

His Twitter feed is a wild ride.

When Noah Centineo blessed our screens in last year’s Netflix hit To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, it seemed like he’d follow the trajectory of other iconic heartthrobs and keep his social and public image stock standard and squeaky clean. But no, we were truly mistaken.

Centineo won Best Comedy Movie Star at this week’s People’s Choice Awards, and let’s just say his acceptance speech was a bit of a curveball. Before he awkward shuffled off the stage, award in hand, Centineo said: “It matters not what you’ve done, but what you do with what you’ve done, for others.”

Sorry?

When you think about it, Centineo’s 2004 Tumblr-vibe quote does make sense, but it hasn’t stopped us (and the rest of his fanbase) from being truly confused:

It’s not the first time Centineo has boggled our minds with his less-than-poster boy behaviour. If you’ve ever had the chance to fall down the weird and wonderful rabbithole that is Centineo’s Twitter feed, you’ll be well aware that he’s quite a philosopher:

Then there was the time, just a few months ago, when Centineo dyed his beard – yes, only his beard – a weird blondey-orange hue. One diehard fan said she was “actually crying,” and was considering closing her fan account because of the crime against fashion.

Look, Centineo’s dye job might’ve been for a movie role, but there’s no excusing his confusing support of controversial YouTuber Logan Paul. Fans were left stumped last year after Centineo tweeted a message of support for Paul when he was slammed for joking about suicide and making homophobic comments.

“Beautiful man,” Centineo tweeted. “It’s not just about overcoming adversity, it’s about overcoming yourself in the face of adversity. We can all learn a lot from this growth.”

It’s touching that Centineo recognised the “growth” Paul needed, but his supportive tweet bewildered fans considering the immense backlash the YouTuber was facing at the time.

After his appearance in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, Noah Centineo was crowned The Internet’s Boyfriend. Fast-forward to 2019 and it sounds like Centineo is still the Internet’s Boyfriend, with a couple of extra quirks.
