It’s been a big day for… Listening to...

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is A 28-Year-Old First-Time Female Candidate Who Just Beat One Of Congress’s Most Powerful Democrats, Joe Crowley, During New York’s Primary Elections

Yep, what do you know? Young women can win elections If they’re actually given a platform.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made history today as the first person to challenge a New York City congressional seat in 14 years… and win!

Just last year Ocasio-Cortez was working behind a bar in New York City.

Today, she defeated one of America’s most powerful democrats, Joe Crowley, who has been in Congress for nearly 20 years.

Best of all, she won the primary election on her own merit despite all the odds.

Not entirely across Ocasio-Cortez?

A Bronx native, she’s one of the left’s most leading and powerfully progressive voices and had a campaign that advocated for Medicare access to all Americans to the abolishment of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Ocasio-Cortez’s win within New York’s 14th district came as a shock to everyone, including Ocasio-Cortez herself, who was given no support or backing by those within the New York political space.

Instead, she was dismissed as just a young girl who was anti-establishment.

Ocasio-Cortez (who spent her free time last week protesting the Trump’s border policy in Texas) is supported by the Democratic Socialists of America and by Our Revolution, the group linked to Bernie Sanders.

There’s never been a better time for female candidates to put themselves out there and succeed in having their voices heard.

So, here’s the takeaway from today…

No matter how young you are, where you come from, or what gender you identify as – if you’re passionate about something and ready to disrupt or challenge a major establishment – put yourself out there.

Now’s the time to make your mark.
