Great news: Sex Education is coming back for a second season!
I don’t know about you, but I fell completely in love with the Netflix show when it came out last month, so this is awesome news.
And don’t worry, all of our faves are returning to reprise their roles, including Gillian Anderson, who isn’t a regular mum, but rather, a cool mum.
Hopefully the new season will resolve all of the first season’s loose ends, such as: will Otis and Maeve get together? Will Eric get a wonderful boyfriend? Will Gillian Anderson finally settle down, ideally with that nice plumber? Only time will tell.

The renewal follows Netflix’s announcement last month that the show “was on pace” to be viewed by over 40 million accounts in its first month on the platform. Netflix’s viewer numbers aren’t easy to independently verify, but if that 40 million number is correct, then it’s no wonder they’re bringing the show back for a second season.
You, which had similar numbers, has also been renewed for a second season, with The Haunting of Hill House’s Victoria Pedretti as the female lead.

About the renewal of Sex Education, series creator Laurie Nunn said:
“The reception to series one has been so exciting. Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible. I’m hugely grateful to every person that has taken the time to watch the series, and I can’t wait to continue this amazing journey.”
It’s still a long way off, but I’m already ready for season two. Bring it on!
