Netflix Promises A New Line-Up Of Original Romcoms To Satiate Our Need For Sweet Fictional Love

I knew rewatching To All The Boys five times in a week would pay off.

We are in the age of the revival of the romcom and isn’t it beautiful? Netflix has been investing plenty into satiating our appetite for that sweet, sweet, romantic comedy content, and the good news is they plan to keep it coming.

As part of an earnings report this week the streaming service disclosed that more than 80 million subscribers from all around the world watched at least on of their ‘Summer of Love’ romcoms over the past few months. Or as we know it here in Australia, ‘Winter of Staying In Bed and Watching TATBILB on Repeat’.

The company apparently singled out To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before as one of its biggest successes. It should come as no surprise that it’s one of the “most viewed original films ever with strong repeat viewing.” The chemistry between Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky is too powerful to be resisted.

After the success of the long line up of original romcoms including To All The Boys, Set It Up, Kissing Booth, Sierra Burgess is a Loser, Netflix confirms they’re already in the production stage of the next set of original romcoms.

One project we are already looking forward to is The Stand In starring To All The Boys’  Noah Centineo as a for-hire boyfriend and Riverdale’s Camila Mendes a beautiful private school girl. It’s being produced by the same company as To All The Boys, so you know it’s going to be good, and it’s set to come out later this year.

Other than that we’ll just have to wait and see, but honestly, the more soppy romantic content that appears on Netflix, the better.
