Jacob Elordi Really Doesn't Look Excited To Be Back On 'Kissing Booth 2' With His Ex

Can you blame him?

When The Kissing Booth 2 was announced in February, the question many people were asking was: will Australian star Jacob Elordi make an appearance in the movie?

Elordi was absent from the original announcement video which many took as a sign he wasn’t going to be in the movie – his character Noah did go away to college (Harvard, no less because this is a movie) so it could have been easy to write him out if Elordi wasn’t keen to return.

It might also be pretty awkward for him given the fact he and Joey King, who plays lead Elle, broke up earlier this year.

However, it seems as though Elordi will be starring in The Kissing Booth 2 (no doubt Netflix had to pay him A LOT to make that happen), but he doesn’t look happy about it at all…

In Netflix’s announcement of Elordi’s return, the actor couldn’t muster up any kind of fake enthusiasm, let’s hope his acting is better in the film…

I get it, he has to play the love interest of his real-life ex, and if things didn’t end super amicably, that’s going to be awkward as hell.

As you can imagine, Twitter is loving his reaction:

While there are many young girls who love The Kissing Booth, it definitely gave off Fifty Shades of Grey vibes with Noah being very dominating over Elle – and Elordi knows it too.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor critiqued his character, saying, “The character in The Kissing Booth is awful and it’s never really explained. He’s kind of idolized and made into a hero.”

Earlier this year King spoke to Refinery29 about the breakup and the fan reaction to it.

“All you can really do at that point is shut your phone off and crawl into your sister’s bed and watch Friends with her, because when you’re going through something and the world wants to go through it with you or [wants] to get every piece of detail from you about it, it’s really difficult. Some of these things are just meant for you,” she said.

She added that a lot of fans couldn’t separate the pair from their characters so it was difficult for them to understand the breakup.

“They can’t understand; they can’t grasp, that reality could be completely different and completely not the same as what you see. So I think that the reason why it was really difficult for them to let up on it is because they just have a fantasy idea of someone else’s life, when it’s not like that at all.”

It’ll be very interesting to see the pair’s chemistry in the film…
