The Spice Girls Reunion Tour Is Going Ahead Without Posh So If You Need Me I’ll Be Watching Spice World And Crying

You can’t bring the 90’s back, no matter how hard you try.

The will-they-or-won’t-they rollercoaster of the Spice Girls reunion has been quite the ride for a long while, but now it’s officially happening.

Well, almost. There will be Scary Spice, Ginger Spice, Baby Spice, and Sporty Spice. But no Posh Spice.

Unfortunately, Victoria Beckham will be sitting this one out.

The girls are reuniting for a UK tour 23 years after they first came onto the scene and spiced up our lives, but without all five of them on stage it does feel a little bittersweet,

They’ve performed as a four-piece before – between 1998 and their split in 2000 – when Geri left the band, but since then they’ve blessed us with a full reunion for the 10 year mark back in 2007 and at their iconic closing ceremony performance at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The desire to relive the Spice Girls’ glory days is understandable, because they are incredible and their music and ‘Girl Power’ message was so significant to so many of our lives.

And while there’s clearly no bad blood between the girls and Victoria Beckham, and we don’t blame Victoria for her choice, seeing them all together without her is a bit of sad reminder of the fact that you can’t really recreate the magic that has been and gone.

The Spice Girls upcoming reunion tour will likely be an incredible show, and we absolutely wish they would come to Australia.

But alas, The Spice Girls are not wholly The Spice Girls without all five band members adding their unique spice to the group. And alas, as is seemingly the Spice Girls tradition, an Australian performance does not seem to be on the agenda or even their radar.

So if you really want to relive the magic of The Spice Girls, the best way to do it is honestly to watch the glorious time capsule of 90’s magic that is, Spice World.

Any and all Spice Girls nostalgic cravings can be satiated by the Spice World movie, I promise.
