Miley Cyrus has gone through a bunch of “phases” throughout her short and wildly successful music career. But as wild as her 2019 “I’m totally not rebounding from my break-up” phase is, it still pales in comparison to what went down in 2013 and 2014.
There was the wrecking ball thing, the Robin Thicke twerking thing and of course, the Katy Perry thing that’s the focus of this edition’s Never Forget.
Back in 2014, Miley was on her Bangerz world tour and Katy Perry happened to stop by during one of her concerts. When you’ve got a fellow superstar in the crowd of your concert, you simply have to share the spotlight a little bit because, well, why the hell not.
After giving Katy a big ol’ smooch, Miley tried to slip in a little surprise tongue but was quickly rebuffed to the amusement of everyone present.
It was over in just a few seconds but the moment lived on for a bit because, well, Katy Perry indeed kissed a girl and… sort of but not really liked it?
The singer appeared on Sunrise (via EOnline) a few weeks later and talk inevitably turned to her and Miley Cyrus’ little impromptu bout of tonsil hockey, to which she explained:
“I just walked up to her to give her like a friendly girly kiss, you know, as girls and then she like tried to move her head and go deeper and I pulled away.”
As for why she pulled away, Katy had a pretty good answer:
“God knows where that tongue has been. We don’t know! That tongue is so infamous!”
So there you have it, in the midst of a wild 2013 and 2014, Miley Cyrus found time to plant a deep kiss on Katy Perry, who didn’t seem to like it as much as her song, ‘I Kissed A Girl’, would have you believe.
