It’s been a big day for… Listening to...

Never Forget When Christina Aguilera Had An Unexpected, Uh, Leakage Mid-Performance

One might say it was Liberation of sorts.

We’ve all had an embarrassing moment in public at some point in time. It creeps up upon us unexpectedly and you just have to push through it. Having said that though, any embarrassing thing you’ve experienced in public will likely pale in comparison to what Christina Aguilera dealt with at Etta James’ funeral.

Christina was asked to sing at the legendary singer‘s funeral in 2012 and things went off without any dramas. Until the singer went up onstage to perform the late songstress’ classic, ‘At Last’.

Mid-song, eagle-eyed folk noticed that some dark coloured liquid started, uh, dripping down her legs, leaving very visible streaks and a big dose of second-hand embarrassment to all those watching.

Now the knee-jerk reaction of many was “ewww that’s her period,” which was pretty awful. But the truth is a bit less dramatic, a little bit funny and simply unfortunate.

The stuff dripping down Christina’s legs while at Etta James’ funeral wasn’t bodily fluids of any sort. No, it was just fake tan and it started running because the singer worked up a bit of a sweat.

Think about it. Dressed in a heavy black suit while standing underneath the bright lights and having to perform to people at a funeral is a lot of pressure, so it’s no surprise that Christina started sweating like a cornered nun.

Combine that with some fresh fake tan and you’ve got yourself an unfortunate, um, leakage that you simply have to deal with.

As for what Christina had to say, she didn’t acknowledge the incident, opting instead to pay more tribute to Etta, which is just classy.

Full credit to Christina Aguilera for maintaining her composure throughout the whole leakage as she was fully committed in nailing her performance as a tribute to her music idol (which she did) and if it meant being subjected to a series of ‘Dirrty’ jokes afterwards, it was worth it.
