Stranger Things’ Millie Bobby Brown Is Narrating A Darren Aronofsky Virtual Reality Experience And I Can’t Take This Trailer Seriously

Sorry but why is she whispering Pluto like she's afraid of waking it up?

I have nothing specifically against Millie Bobby Brown. In fact, I think the young Stranger Things star is very talented and well dressed and she seems nice in that how-well-can-you-ever-really-know-a-celebrity kind of way.

And yet, I have some sort of irrational contempt for MBB, and I know I’m not alone.

Why must you mock me with your youthful success

Whatever the cause, it is making it very hard to take Darren Aronofsky’s virtual reality “journey to uncover the hidden songs of the cosmos” seriously.

Millie Bobby Brown narrates this chapter of the three-part virtual reality experience series, Spheres, and I know this trailer isn’t intended as comedy but it just is.

Is it because of the way Millie Bobby Brown pronounces Uranus? Is it the way she whispers Pluto? Is it just because it’s Millie Bobby Brown? Or because the ‘deep’ space chat feels ridiculous?

It’s hard to tell, but I just feel like the episodes narrated by Jessica Chastain and Patti Smith would not have the same comedic effect. Sorry MBB! I’m probably just jealous(?), or something(??). TBD.
