Meryl Streep’s Acting has elevated many a film from fun to flawless, from “eh” to iconic – often with just the perfectly controlled twitch of an eyebrow.
And ever since she was announced as THE cast addition for the second season of Big Little Lies, we’ve all been psyched as heck for her to descend upon the snooty helicopter mommies of Monterey, playing the mother and sole mourner of Alexander Skarsgaard’s vicious, abusive character, and absolutely go to town with the eyebrow twitches and arch observations.
And if the single perfect line of Merylery we get at the end of this new trailer is any indication, she is going to f**k. s**t. up – one delicately observed barb at a time.

That deceptively gentle tone, the quiet steel in her voice, Reese’s tiny gasp – it all screams MERYL IS HERE AND YOUR LIVES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.
But we’ve known the power this would have ever since the instant classic production shots of Reese Witherspoon hurling an ice-cream cone at her changed all our lives.
