Spider-Man: Far From Home Never Intended To Include A Stan Lee Cameo And The Reason Makes Total Sense

And not for the reason you might be thinking...

The Infinity Saga, the 23 Marvel Cinematic Universe films to date, will conclude with Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Avengers: Endgame might feel like the natural end to the Infinity Saga, but Far From Home wraps up the story and sets up the next MCU films going forward.

One tradition that’s always featured in a Marvel film has been Stan Lee’s cameo, and that won’t continue with Far From Home, and no, it’s not because of the Marvel creator’s passing.

Lee’s last cameo was in Endgame, where he is seen driving past the facility that created Captain America, saying soldiers should make love, not war.

That cameo was intended to be Lee’s last cameo and there was never an intention to feature him in Far From Home according to director Jon Watts.

In an interview on the ReelBlend podcast, Watts was asked if there was ever a plan to include a cameo and he said, “No. I mean, I think everyone sort of knew that he was sick and he had just filmed the cameo for Endgame.

“I think they shot that earlier, too. So I didn’t want to… It felt right for the last thing to be in Endgame. So we never really talked about it, honestly.”

And in all honesty, that makes total sense, Endgame did feel like the right time for Lee’s last on-screen appearance as it was the ending of everything that first started with Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) trying to get the Avengers Initiative off the ground.
