The Internet Has Zero Time For These Dude-Bros Dissing Disney's She-Hulk Series

Prepare for an intense eye roll.

Prepare for an intense eye roll, because the dude-bros of the Internet have a new bone to pick, and this time it concerns a female Marvel character created 40 years ago.

At the D23 expo over the weekend, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige announced that a She-Hulk series would be heading to the new Disney+ streaming platform.

The character, who is also known as Jennifer Walters, becomes She-Hulk after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin Bruce Banner (AKA OG Hulk) and takes on his big, green aggressive energy.

She-Hulk looks like her cousin and becomes stronger when provoked, except she is able to retain her intelligence and emotional control. Over the years she’s been a member of the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Heroes for Hire, the Defenders, Fantastic Force and S.H.I.E.L.D.

Most importantly, She-Hulk was created by the late great Stan Lee and artist John Buscema in 1980 – almost 40 years ago.

So, why are a grown men getting angry about the character and calling her a creation of social justice warriors?

On Marvel Studios’ Instagram announcement about the series, one follower commented: “Why everything gotta be about women? Who tf cares about women’s rights? HULK DOESN’T NEED TO BE A GIRL.” Another commented, “Why everything in Marvel gotta be female now?”

Wow, there are no words.

Marvel fans were quick to shutdown the toxic comments and remind the haters that She-Hulk has been around for decades, and this kind of language is not only totally offensive, but completely uncalled for.

It’s not all shade throwing, though. There are plenty of fans frothing on the upcoming series and taking to social media to pitch everyone from Stephanie Beatriz to Laverne Cox for the lead role.

As one Twitter user put it, “she’s just a big green lawyer who beats people up, what’s not to love?” and I have to agree wholeheartedly. The haters need to do their research.
