It’s been a big day for… Listening to...

Almost Every MCU Actor Will Return For 'Marvel's What If...?' On Disney+

Hell yeah!

Marvel’s What If…? is going to explore a different side to the Marvel stories you know and love by changing up one little detail in the story, and it seems like the animated show is going to feature a lot of familiar voices.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel boss Kevin Feige revealed at Disney’s D23 Expo that “almost the entire cast of the MCU will be lending their voices to the series”.

He also explained a little bit more about the show, saying, “The 23 films of the MCU that you know are going to showcase one little difference in each episode and see how things change.”

The comics of the same name explore what would happen if important moments in Marvel history happened just slightly differently.

Feige showed footage from the series which revealed the characters’ likenesses are based on the actors from the films.

According to EW, the two scenes with the biggest crowd reaction were a zombie version of Captain America fighting Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter taking the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers.

Hayley Atwell, who played Carter in the Captain America films as well as the TV show Agent Carter, appeared on stage to talk about the show.

She told the crowed that playing the S.H.I.E.LD. agent “is the gift that keeps on giving, but that’s also because of the fans. They love Peggy, they’ve brought her back.”

We’re assuming that Chris Evans will not be returning to voice the episodes as Captain America, because Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo have previously confirmed he’s done with the MCU and has “emotionally moved on” from the role.

Joe told the Happy Sad Confused podcast, “No, I think Chris — Chris is a very emotional person. I think, maybe it’s evident if you follow him on Twitter — because he does put his heart into what he says — but I feel like he has to close the door on things and emotionally move onto the next thing.”

Anthony added, “There are no plans [to bring him back].”

“I think for now he’s emotionally moved on, yes,” Joe said.

It will be interesting to see if Robert Downey Jr will return as Iron Man, but it seems as though he’s closed the door on that chapter in his life as well, telling Disney’s Twenty-Three magazine he and Evans “had to get off” the Marvel train.

“We had to get off. We opted to, and knew it was part of the job to get off the bus while it rolled on to other destinations.”

“There’s something very sobering about it. I’m glad he and I will be there to welcome others as they retire their jerseys.”

It certainly doesn’t sound like he’ll return!
