Hidden iPhone Hacks That Will Make Your Life Way Better

This changes everything.

Stuck in isolation for what feels like years now, there’s one thing we’ve all been doing a whole lot more of – and no, I’m not talking about baking. There’s a good chance your screen time has skyrocketed over the past few months with how much time everyone is spending on their phones. Look – it’s not great to stay glued to our screens for hours on end, but iPhones do have their perks. Here are 5 hidden iPhone hacks will make your life way better:

Type Faster On The Go

If you’ve treated yourself to the latest iPhone but suffer from teensy tiny hand syndrome – typing one-handed can be a bit of a struggle. However, your iPhone has a sneaky little setting that makes typing far easier when you’re in a rush.

The QuickPath setting allows you to slide your finger across the keyboard to form words, rather than tapping each individual letter. Even if you swipe gibberish, the usual autocorrect and suggestion features of iMessage will kick in to offer you the right alternatives.

To enable QuickPath, make sure you’ve updated to the latest software, then select Settings, General, Keyboard and Slide to Type

Silence Spam Calls

If you’re prone to receiving pesky spam, telemarketing or robo calls, you don’t have to waste time screening them if you’re an iPhone user.

You can send unknown callers directly to your voicemail by heading to Settings, tapping Phone, and Switch on Silence Unknown Callers.

It’s important to note, this setting won’t work on numbers you’ve recently called or ones Siri sources from your emails.

Surf The Web At High Speed

In a rush to prove your point with some obscure fact hidden in the depths of the Internet? Typing out URLs can feel laborious at the best of times – but there’s a simple hack to get you surfing at high speed.

Apparently, if you hold down the full stop button while typing out a URL, it will bring up a shortcut series of suffixes like .com, .co.uk etc

Kill Your Apps Quick

Doing a bit of spring cleaning? If you’re an iPhone user, you don’t need to spend hours swiping each app closed. If you need to close applications in a hurry, you can do it by double-tapping your home button to bring up open apps, then dragging three fingers upwards to close three apps at a time. Easy.

Time Your Sweet Lullabies

If you’re the kind of person who falls asleep to music then wakes up with some kind of obscure concerto playing, your iPhone has a built-in solution. Just head to the Clock app, tap Timer and When Timer Ends. Here, you’ll be able to switch out your alarm for a Stop Playing option. Simply set yourself a timer, hit play on your music, and when the timer ends, so will your tunes.
