Here Are Some Birthday Party Alternatives For Every Aries Stuck In Self-Isolation

Alexa, play Party For One by Carly Rae Jepsen.

Welp, this is unfortunate. As self-isolating has very much become the norm, it’s starting to hit us just how much we go out. By staying inside, we’re shopping less, we’re doing social activities less and we’re going to fewer weddings. While it’s good for our wallets, it’s bad for the people that want to celebrate. Sorry, Aries!

Aries be like…

As a result, we came up with a list of potential ways that people can still party, without physically being with each other. Turns out, there’s still a whole lot of fun to be had.

Make sure you check out this episode of It’s Been A Big Day For… where we break down Gavin’s Birthday!

You Can Still Get A Little Face-To-FaceTime

Hosting birthday parties online is a perfectly good alternative to having a literal party. Thanks to technology nowadays, FaceTime, HouseParty and Facebook Video Call are perfect ways you and your friends can party fully virtually. You can each crack open a bottle of wine and let the tea (not the wine) spill.

Virtual Parties Are Where It’s At

Is life on earth annoying? Escape it for half a second and celebrate it online! Animal Crossing comes out tomorrow and you know exactly what that means: It’s time to host your very own birthday party in a Nintendo village! If you don’t have a Switch but have a PC, you can alternatively set up a Sims house in Birthday Party mode and put it in the public gallery so people can visit it. Love that for virtual you! Also, if you don’t wanna see people but still wanna interact, opt for online games that you can play remotely as a group. I highly recommend Words With Friends or Jumpy Jumpy, available on Facebook Messanger.

The Name’s Bond, Family Bonds

If you’re destined to hang out with friends, why not ready those plans for future you, but hang out with your family in the meantime. Take this time to bond over some dusty old board games that you’ve definitely forgotten about. Or alternatively, build up your skillset and bake a fun cake. Recipe for disaster? More like a recipe for success.

Drink-Talk-Learn: DTL Is The New DTF

If you don’t know what a Drink-Talk-Learn party is, it’s one of those parties where a group of friends come together and present a PowerPoint presentation on a topic they’re particularly passionate about. Just because it started as a physical party, doesn’t mean there’s anything stopping this from becoming a virtual thing. Considering a lot of university subjects have made the shift, why not whip out Zoom for one of these parties.

Plus, at the end of the day, a virtual party is much better than a literal one anyway. There’s little to no cleanup, you’re not replicating the same boomerang with every person in the room and it’s so much cheaper!
