All The Wild 1950s Jello Recipes You Can Make With The Scraps In Your Cupboard

Jell-No.

Panic buying has been a real pain in the neck for everybody, and we’re all down to a weird list of ingredients in our cupboard that have been in there forever. I’m down to mostly cans of tuna and boxes of jelly to be honest. Though the 1950s are long gone, this is the time for their most horrifying inventions to step up to the plate: cursed jello recipes.

… is there?

While it’s worth pointing out that the raspberry flavoured jelly crystals in my cupboard aren’t exactly the sort of gelatin used in jello recipes, desperate times call for desperate measures. So what can you make with the odds and ends you’re left with?

I figured I’d start with the cans of tuna in my cupboard and go from there. This was a mistake.

With your jello, some milk, salt, tuna, Cottage cheese, mayonnaise, Caesar salad dressing, celery, green pepper, and green onion, you can make a Cottage Tuna Salad Mold. It looks like this.

If you still have tuna, you can use lime jello, tuna, olives, pineapple, celery, cucumber, onion, and vinegar to create a Ring Around The Tuna. Don’t ask me what that means.

Maybe you have a ton of potatoes going to waste? May I humbly suggest to you that you Potato Salad Jello? Gelatin, sugar, lemon juice, olives, eggs, potatoes, celery, green onions, mayonnaise, and cream will make you one of these bad boys. Delish.

And if for some reason you have some spare liver lying around, you can make this unholy creation. Liver, canned green beans, gelatin, pepper, and no-fat buttermilk is all you need to create your own Liver Pâté En Masque.

Frankly, I may never enjoy food again after looking at some of these, but hey, if all else fails we know that we can at leas eat something.

I might stick to just eating my tuna out of the can though.
