No, Cara Delevingne And Ashley Benson Aren't Married, They Did Something Even Better

OK, this is awesome.

Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson are not married despite rumours suggesting they tied the knot in a secret ceremony at the Little Vegas Chapel in Las Vegas earlier this year.

The Sun on Sunday first broke the story and quoted the Chapel’s owner Michael Kelly who said the pair was “clearly devoted to each other”.

“They were sure about what they are doing and they were sure about what they mean to each other.

“They were clearly devoted to each other and they had the biggest smiles on their faces.

“You could see that they were serious about what they were doing but having the most fun. They wanted it simple, quiet and easy.”

The newspaper reported Charlize Theron, the Jonas Brothers and Sophie Turner witnessed the wedding and that the brides wore black.

However, E! News is reporting the pair did not get married, but instead had a “fun friendship ceremony”, which, I have to say, sounds 10,000 times better than a wedding.

No wonder they were having the time of their lives – they were celebrating their friendship and what they mean to each other! Friendship ceremonies should become a more mainstream thing, that’s all I’m saying!

The pair confirmed their relationship in June this year with an Instagram post. Cara told E! she didn’t really know why they decided to make their relationship public at that point.

“I don’t know (why now). Because it is Pride, it’s been 50 years since Stonewall happened,” she said.

The model also added, “I don’t know . . .  it’s been just about our one-year anniversary so, why not?”

A source told E! the pair has been living together for some time now, “This is Cara’s first real home in L.A. and they are really enjoying this time together. Ashley has never been in a relationship like this and is happier than she has ever been.”

“It’s a different type of relationship with a lot of understanding, support and loving communication.”

“They are very sweet and loving together. They are always doing simple nice things for each other and it all comes very easy and naturally. They are committed to one another and very much in love.”

Cara first came out as bisexual in 2015, telling Glamour magazine many people didn’t quite understand.

“Once I spoke about my sexual fluidity, people were like, ‘So you’re gay.’ And I’m like, ‘No, I’m not gay.’ A lot of the friends I have who are straight have such an old way of thinking. It’s, ‘So you’re just gay, right?’ [They] don’t understand it.”

“Someone is in a relationship with a girl one minute, or a boy is in a relationship with a boy, I don’t want them to be pigeonholed. Imagine if I got married to a man. Would people be like… ‘She lied to us!'”
