Reese Witherspoon Just Confirmed Legally Blonde 3 In The Most Elle Woods Way Ever

Oh Warner, do you remember when we spent those four amazing hours in the hot tub together after winter formal? This is such much better than that!

Bust out the hairspray, get your nails did, and prepare yourselves for the most epic bend and snap ever because Legally Blonde 3 is officially happening.

Paying homage to her infamous and arguably best character of all time (only second to Nicole Walker in Fear, duh), Reese Witherspoon took to social media to reveal the third instalment of the film in true Elle Woods fashion.

It’s been 17 years since we first saw Elle float her way into Harvard, and frankly – she’s lookin’ better than ever. Considering it’s been nearly two decades, colour me impressed.

Not only is this third film a blessed gift, it’s also a chance to make up for the snooze fest that was Legally Blonde 2.

Most importantly, it’s a chance for Reese to tackle female empowerment, equality, and visibility in the era of #MeToo. It’s her opportunity to set a precedent on how to represent women in film, and how to employ women in film.

Reese has been a staunch advocate for women’s rights and a champion for female representation both on screen and behind the scenes.

Check out this awesome speech she made way back in 2015.

Two years after she made this speech, Reese took her desire to create engaging and game-changing work for women by producing and starring in Little Big Lies.

Now, her production company, Pacific Standard, and her multimedia company, Hello Sunshine, are set to continue focusing on telling women’s stories across all platforms, and telling them well.

I entirely trust Reese to hit the nail on the head with Legally Blonde 3 and get this right. She knows just how much is resting on this project and the potential change it can instigate and inspire.
