According to critics of Kristen Stewart, her ability to land big acting roles is directly related to her sexuality which is a sad state of affairs in 2019.
In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the Twilight actress revealed that before she became a household name, she had “fully been told, ‘If you just like do yourself a favour, and don’t go out holding your girlfriend’s hand in public, you might get a Marvel movie.”
“I don’t want to work with people like that,” she added.
Stewart said she’d been informed by an “old-school mentality, which is – you want to preserve your career and your success and productivity, and there are people in the world who don’t like you, and they don’t like that you date girls, and they don’t like that you don’t identify as a quote unquote ‘lesbian,’ but you also don’t identify as a quote unquote ‘heterosexual.’ And people like to know stuff, so what the f*ck are you?”
It must’ve been particularly hard for Stewart to shake off the industry’s pigeonholed perception of her considering how highly publicised her relationship with Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson was between 2009 and 2012.

During her interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Stewart addressed her relationship with Pattinson and the importance of keeping it private. “When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by,” she said. “So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, ‘No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours.”
In 2017, Stewart announced she was “so gay” during an appearance on Saturday Night Live and later clarified she was bisexual. “You’re not confused if you’re bisexual. It’s not confusing at all. For me, it’s quite the opposite,” she told The Guardian.
Since then, Kristen Stewart has had a string of relationships with St. Vincent musician Annie Clark, Victoria’s Secret model Stella Maxwell, and stylist Sara Dinkin. Over the past few years she has also landed roles in major films including On The Road, Still Alice, Café Society, Clouds of Sils Maria, Certain Women, and this year’s Charlie’s Angels reboot, just to name a few.
It’s quite clear Kristen Stewart’s dating history, or sexual preference, has absolutely nothing to do with her successful acting career, and the people who think otherwise need a harsh reality check.
