The cartoon version of Kim Possible looks like a complete badass. She’s meant to be in high school, sure, but she looks like the Hollywood version of a high schooler. AKA, in her mid to late 20’s.
Her mate Ron Stoppable looks a little dorky, sure, but he has a mature dorkiness about him.
But strip your imagination of those concepts of Kim and Ron because Disney’s live-action movie remake of the show has taken things in a very different direction.
When we had our first look at Sadie Stanley as Kim Possible, we were distracted by the travesty that is the lack of pockets in her outfit. Teenage spies need multifunctional pants!
But now that Entertainment Weekly has gotten a hold of the whole picture, it’s become pretty evident that the Kim Possible remake is likely not targeting grown-ass people who were the OG fans. That is the only way to explain why Kim and Ron look like literal children.
Wade is also fitting into the youthful picture, played by Issac Ryan Brown. I understand that this is actually a children’s show-turned-movie, but I’m still shook.
Professor Dementor (Patton Oswalt) is also on the scene. Yes, he’s an adult, but he’s got a kids movie way about him doesn’t he?
In spite of the surprise at the adorable dweebishness of Kim and Ron and their whole crew, you bet we’ll be seeing the Kim Possible movie remake whenever it drops next year.
