Katy Perry’s Mum Has Written An Incredibly Unsubtle Book About Raising Children Who Suffer Demonic Influences

*Patiently waits for stories about projectile vomiting and the split pea soup.

Gees, thanks mum.

Katy Perry’s mother has taken pen to paper and written a how-to guide for parents who have been “duped” by the devil.

The book, “Joyful Parent = Happy Home: 14 Insights to Parenting with Joy” was first published in 2015, but has garnered plenty of media attention since.

Not quite sure if it’s the right book for you and your pack of devil dog kids?

Here’s an excerpt of the synopsis to help you make up your mind…

“… It is difficult to watch your children do things their way, especially when it looks like it is totally the opposite of God’s way. You want to shout, Stop! because you clearly see the danger ahead. Mary Hudson shows you how as a parent you can look past your hurt and love your children despite their actions. Joyful Parent = Happy Home will encourage you to love your way into your kids world… The enemy is the one that is stealing your JOY not your children. This is a spiritual battle. The enemy’s most effective weapon is deception. And if you fall for his lie that your child is never going to change and will always live a certain way, you have been duped by one of the devil’s oldest tricks..”

Right, so I know Katy Perry has said a few problematic things over the years, and we’ve had a fair share of “wait, what?!” moments with her lately, but can we just find Perry and give her a hug?

How does anyone grow up to become an informed, confident, and happy individual when their parents are using the fame of their kids to peddle religious guidebooks that are based on raising “difficult children”?

We’ve always known Perry’s mum and dad were super religious (her dad is an evangelical preacher, after all), but looking back at the comments they’ve made over the years it’s safe to say Perry hasn’t exactly had the most supportive or open-minded parents.

Last year when Perry accepted the National Equality Award in Los Angeles during the 2017 Human Rights Campaign Gala, she admitted to being sent to religious camps to “prayed the gay away”.

“… how was I going to reconcile that with the gospel singing girl raised in youth groups that were pro-conversion camps? I prayed the gay away at my Jesus camps…”

In another conversation with Vogue, Perry also confessed to picketing Madonna and Marilyn Manson concerts with her parents.

“We knew about Madonna and Marilyn Manson in my family because we picketed their concerts… I still have conditioned layers dropping off of me by the day” she said.

Perry has admitted her sheltered upbringing involved not being allowed to “interact with gay people” and that she was considered the “black sheep” of the family because she followed her own path in life.

Hardly surprising if you believe reports from The Sun that claimed Perry’s father once even gave a sermon about Perry’s devilish ways where he reportedly said, “I was at a concert of Katy’s where there were 20,000. I’m watching this generation and they were going at it. It almost looked like church. I stood there and wept and kept on weeping and weeping. They’re loving and worshipping the wrong thing.”

If you didn’t already feel a little sorry for Perry, just check out this clip below from a recent American Idol episode.

When her parents are asked if they’re proud of Katy’s work on Idol, her mum’s response?

“She’s still mouthy.”

Oh, and then they both said the two male judges were the ones to “add wisdom”…

Run, Katy. Just run and never look back.
