Justin Bieber has shared with the world a tribute poem for his wife Hailey Baldwin/Bieber, and it’s very cute.
Cute seems to be the right word to describe the 18 lines of rhyming couplets that might make you cringe from clichés and our natural contempt for grand gestures of love, but are so wholesome you literally can not hate. (DO NOT HATE.)
Biebs signed off the love poem on Instagram with a note to Hailey explaining the motivation behind the online show of affection.
“I just wanted to publicly honor you, and remind you that the best is yet to come!”
As an outsider, reading the whole poem feels a bit uncomfortably intimate, like you’re in high school and you’ve accidentally opened a note meant for the girl sitting next to you. But I’m sure if you were in it, ie. if you were Hailey Bieber, this must all feel pretty damn sweet.
“Sunlight falls into the Abyss
Just like i fall into your lips
Waves crash onto the shore
My love for you grows more and more
Sound of the crickets a true meditation
I think about you, Gods greatest creation.
As i fall into this blissful state
I ponder on how you’re my one true SOULMATE
Its getting dark to dark to see
A chilling breeze embraces me
The smell of camomile fresh from the garden
My life is a movie that both of us star in.
Speaking of stars I’m starting to see some
They light up the sky, reminds me of my freedom
How big and how vast our world is around us
So grateful for god we were lost but he found us
So i write the poem with him always in mine
Things all around us Just get better with time.”
The highlights are objectively when JB comes in hard and fast with reference to the abyss in the first line, capitalises “SOULMATE”, because he really means that, and when he low key appropriates ‘Amazing Grace’ in the line about being lost but found by God. We love to see anyone getting around some poetic creative writing.
Respect to Justin Bieber for sharing something so personal, he’s clearly a big sweetheart and we hope him and Hailey are happily loved up.
