Jennifer Aniston And Reese Witherspoon's New TV Series Is Going To Make Us Happy Cry

Breakfast television ladies are killing it.

What do you get when you combine Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and breakfast television? Potentially lots of happy crying and women absolutely killing it.

Today, the trailer for Aniston and Witherspoon’s new Apple TV+ series Morning Wars hit the Internet and after just 2 minutes and 50 seconds, I’m sold.

According to Apple, the show was executive produced by the two female powerhouses and “explores the high-stakes world of morning news and the lives of the people who help America wake up in the morning.”

The show is told through the lens of “two complicated women working to navigate the minefield of high-powered jobs while facing crises in both their personal and professional lives.”

Aniston and Witherspoon star alongside Steve Carell, who appears to be at the centre of a #MeToo-esque scandal in the show, requiring the two women to join forces and hopefully build each other up, rather than tear each other down.

Cue the happy crying.

Morning Wars looks as though it mirrors the real life breakfast television scandal of Matt Lauer, who was fired from NBC’s Today in 2017 after an unidentified female employee accused him of sexual harassment. A year later, he was permanently replaced by Hoda Kotb, making her and Savannah Guthrie the first all-female anchor duo in Today’s history.

I’m not the only one excited for Morning Wars. Twitter has been blowing up with equally-as-stoked fans who are keen to see Aniston and Witherspoon kick butt on screen:

This is Aniston’s first TV role since 2010’s Cougar Town, and Witherspoon’s continued foray into television following on from the massive success of Big Little Lies.

Whether it ends up being a hit, or a miss, what a pleasure it is to see two powerful women executive directing a huge TV show like Morning Wars  together.

YES LADIES. Morning Wars is coming soon to Apple TV+
